How to Verify Legitimate Communication from FP Smith

Fraudsters and phishing attempts are common in our industry. FP Smith will never ask you to take unusual actions or share sensitive information through unverified channels.
Verification Guidelines
1. Email Domain Verification
Emails from FP Smith will always come from these official domains:
- fpsmithparts.com
- fpsmitheq.com
We do not use Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook.com, or any other personal email services for official business communications.
2. Caller ID Verification
Legitimate calls from FP Smith will display one of these verified phone numbers on your Caller ID:

3. Accepted Payment Methods
FP Smith will never ask you to pay using unusual or untraceable payment methods such as gift cards, wire transfers to personal accounts, cryptocurrency, or prepaid debit cards.

- ✓ PayPal
- ✓ Bank Wire (International & large dollar value orders)
4. No Pressure or Suspicious Links
FP Smith will never:
- Pressure you to make an immediate purchase or decision
- Send you links via email that ask for login credentials, payment details, or personal information
- Request you to download attachments from unknown sources
5. Report Suspicious Activity
If you ever receive a suspicious email, text, or phone call that appears to be from FP Smith, please contact us immediately so we can investigate.
We report fraud to the Federal Trade Commission: ReportFraud.ftc.gov
We report criminal activity to the FBI and/or local law enforcement authorities.

Our Commitment to Security
At FP Smith Parts & Equipment, we take the safety of our customers and business partners seriously. Unfortunately, scammers are increasingly impersonating legitimate companies to request Caterpillar, Cummins, and other heavy equipment parts.
Recent Example
We have received fraudulent emails impersonating Green Brick Partners using the fake domain greenbrickspartners.com (note the extra “s”) and spoofed phone numbers.
Legitimate communications from Green Brick Partners always come from @greenbrickpartners.com.
Common Red Flags of Scams
- ⚠︎ Emails from domains that are very similar but not identical to the real company (typosquatting).
- ⚠︎ Phone numbers that do not match the company’s official published numbers.
- ⚠︎ Unsolicited requests for quotes on popular parts (e.g., fuel injectors, undercarriage, engines) followed by pressure for quick invoices or wire payments.
- ⚠︎ Requests for personal or banking information, or instructions to pay via unusual methods.
- ⚠︎ Urgent language or threats of penalties for delay.
